As a diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM), apart from working as a regular equine veterinarian, I specialise in the diagnostics and treatment of internal problems in the horse.
Specialities
GASTROSCOPY - typical signs: ear pinning whilst grooming, crib biting, recurrent colic, slow eating, little appetite, repeated yawning, kicking out under saddle
WEIGHT LOSS/DIARRHEA: Blood work, dental examinations, abdominocentesis, ultrasonography, biopsies of the intestines
CHRONIC COUGH: Endoscopy and bronchoalveolar Lavage, blood gas analyses etc.
DERMATOLOGY: Biopsies, cultures, allergy testing
POOR PERFORMANCE work up: Thorough history and examination incl. cardiovascular system, ecg, blood gas analyses, endoscopy etc.
Modern technology devices make it possible to carry out more specialised diagnostics out in the field. Examples: Endoscopies (gastroscopy, bronchoscopy, cystoscopy etc.), ultrasonographic examinations, blood gas analyses and other blood work, biopsies and others.
